Aion, Prepare to take Flight.

After six closed beta's and a few weeks of debate, the Older Gamers Newest Division Captain has been announced. Just in time for the Open Beta.

In what can be described only as a TOG first, the Administrators invited the public to offer feed back on the three applicants and at 12.15am Sunday Morning Ashlin announced our newest Division Captain.

Icehawke comes highly recommended as he recently stepped down from Guild leader role on the TOG WAR Darklands server to apply for the DC role and had been playing China Aion as a Templar. His first priorities are [quote] GL applications and private forums. Thanks Ashin![/quote]

With over 100 strong members eagerly anticipating the start of Aion this news came as a great relief. Now the fun will really begin. With many more new challenges awaiting him we welcome him with open wings.

Maps

Learn something new everyday. Watching some vids this morn before work and I come across this little bit of info. One of my guildies was asking how do I move the overhead map from the middle of my screen.

Answer
All you have to do to make your "N" map pop up there is move your "M" map over there. The "N" map will appear wherever you have your "M" map set.

Crafting

As I countdown to the launch (7 days for open beta) I find myself randomly searching for info online about the game, Today's searching lead me to crafting. Trying to decide what craft to start with, even though I'm inclined to think I will play with them all at one point. Came across this little gem and decided to post it for a handy reference.

A friend once said to me that a game that was a cross between final fantasy and warcraft was one he'd like to play. Aion is as close to that ideal I've seen in awhile and I'm looking forward to exploring that notion.
